Celtic could face Liverpool in testimonial match for captain Scott Brown

LIVERPOOL are being lined up as potential opponents for Celtic in a testimonial for captain Scott Brown.

The glamour tie would be the first time Brendan Rodgers has faced his old club since leaving Anfield.

According to the Daily Express, the Premier League side have been contacted by the Hoops to inquire about them coming north for a fixture in July or August at Celtic Park.

32-year-old Brown joined Celtic from Hibs in a £4.4m move in May 2007.

He has already been honoured with a testimonial dinner earlier this month.
