Mark Mackie, director of Regular Music, said: “The public response to this years Summer Nights at the Bandstand has been sensational, and now to be able to announce that the legendary Sir Tom Jones is joining the incredible line-up is just mind blowing.

“Sir Tom is one of the greatest stage performers that the world has ever seen and now we have the chance to see him up close in this historic amphitheatre on the banks of the River Kelvin.”

The bandstand, built in 1924, was regularly used for concerts and shows until it fell into disrepair in the 1990s.

The 2500 capacity venue eventually re-opened after renovation in 2014 and has once again become a popular and unique venue.

Tickets for Sir Tom’s show go on sale Friday, May 20 at 9am from from www.ticketmaster.co.uk or 0844 844 0444.
