Frontman Glenn Frey may have died in January, but that may not be the end of The Eagles – as the band could reunite with his son at the helm.
Drummer Don Henley is now the only member of the original line-up left in the US rock band, but has nominated Glenn’s son Deacon as a replacement.
Don, 69, told The Mirror: “At some point in the future, we might work our way round to that.
“You know, Glenn has a son who can sing and play quite well. And one of the only things that would make sense to me is if it were his son.”
Deacon, 22, has previously joined his father on stage.
Don added: “The only way I would consider any kind of reunion, I think, would be with Glenn’s son, Deacon.”
Glenn died at the age of 67 in January. A month after his death, the band performed at the Grammys with the help of Jackson Browne, where they honoured their late frontman.
“I think that was the final farewell. I don’t think you’ll see us performing again, I think that was probably it,” Don said in an interview with BBC Radio 2 presenter Simon Mayo at the time.
