10 of this season’s most flattering fashion shapes and styles

La Redoute

TAKE a wander round any high street shop and you’ll realise the summer sales are all but over and cosy winter dressing isn’t far away.

And with new shapes and styles of trousers and skirts to choose from, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

We’ve all been hooked on straight trousers for years now. There are still plenty of those around but if you fancy a change, think cropped, often with a bit of a kick flare at the bottom.

Team them with flat shoes or boots for perfect chic.

Pencil skirts are classics, but sometimes we all need a change.

And there are plenty of new skirt shapes to choose from. If you think fuller shapes will make you look chunky, go for styles that are less gathered and a bit smoother at the top, before flaring out.

They can take a bit of trial and error – but find the right style for you and it will look amazing.

Pleats are everywhere – we love Asos’s metallic stripe style, which you can wear with boots during the day and heels for evening.

And a wrap-style flatters almost every shape and size.

Here’s a selection of our faves:
