When famous folk fall 10 of the top slips and trips

In honour of Madonna’s Brit Awards stage spill, here’s a countdown of some of our favourite spotlight stumbles

Please note, no VIPs were harmed (too seriously) in the making of this compilation

10. Madonna

The Queen of Pop provides the inspiration for this list, her fall from the stage at the Brit Awards was something far from Madge-estic.

9. Katy Perry

Would be heir to Madonna’s throne, the former Mrs Russell Brand gets a little out of control after overdosing on way too many E numbers.

8. Jennifer Lawrence

The Hunger Games actress attempt to take to the Oscars stage in 2013 didn’t go so well but her endearing response meant J-Law became the talk of Tinseltown overnight. Something remarkably similar happened the following year, prompting fears of a trend. Thankfully Jennifer failed to complete the hat-trick in 2015, and all was well with the world.

7. Gerald Ford

The US President (seen here sliding down the Air Force One stairs in Austria, 1975) had such a reputation for constant clumsiness that all Chevy Chase had to do on Saturday Night Live was fall over a few times and thus a lucrative career was born. Nice work if you can get it.

6. Kelsey Grammer

TV’s Dr Frasier Crane almost had a new temporary theme tune for his hit sitcom after the events of this particular evening “Hey baby I feel the bruise from fallin’, tossed actor with scrambled legs.”

5. Sepp Blatter

He’s been the (Dark?) Lord of World Football for what seems like an eternity. Can anybody knock him off his perch? Well, himself, it would seem.

4. Fidel Castro

The former Cuban President survived over three decades in power despite huge international resistance to his communist regime. So, no surprise that after taking this tumble, breaking an arm and a knee in the process, the tough as teak Pres took his seat for the remainder of this televised ceremony, simply shrugging, “I’m all in one piece”

3. John Terry

If you’re not a Chelsea fan, this remains one of the funniest things to ever happen in a high stakes sporting arena. Actually, even if you are a Chelsea fan…

2. Bono

The U2 frontman suffered a spot of Vertigo and was left feeling Numb after this slip in 2006. So this is what moving in Mysterious Ways looks like?

1. Stuart McCall

Scotland’s entry to the list is probably also one of the funniest not least because of the heroic way the celebrating MCall manages not to spill a drop. Slinte mhaith!
