Three Al-Jazeera journalists have been sentenced to three years in prison in Egypt.

Mohamed Fahmy, Baher Mohamed and Peter Greste were convicted of “spreading false news” and aiding the banned Muslim Brotherhood group.

All three stenuously deny the accusations.

A new Scottish left-wing electoral alliance was officially launched today in Glasgow.

The RISE coalition, which stands for “Respect, Independence, Socialism and Environmentalism”, plans to have candidates standing in the 2016 Holyrood election and describes itself as a grass-roots movement which grew out of the independence referendum.4) Great Scottish Swim

Six people are being sealed into a dome for a year…it sounds like the new series of Big Brother but this is actually a NASA experiment.

The plan is to simulate living conditions on Mars with participants spending a full year inside the dome, built on a dormant volcano in Hawaii.
