Celts under Mjallby orders

By Danny Stewart

JOHAN MJALLBY has ordered Celtic’s players to defend as if their lives depended on it.

The Hoops have failed to keep a clean sheet in their eight games so far this season.

That has killed off their Champions League ambitions and given Neil Lennon and his management team cause for concern.

“I’m not too happy with the goals we’re conceding,” said assistant boss Mjallby.

Conceded

“We conceded two silly goals away to Braga and that made it a near-impossible task to turn it round.

“It was just too easy for them to score in both games.

“We need to be more ruthless.

“When I was a player and had just arrived at Celtic, Martin O’Neill gave me some great advice.

“He said, ‘Win the ball, defend for your life and give possession to the better players. As long as you do that, you’ll always play for me’.”
