‘Gabby’s still my wonder woman’
Gabby Logan is the glamorous face of the BBC’s Commonwealth Games coverage.
And husband Kenny says that means no TV viewing squabbles over the next two weeks.
“I’d imagine other couples will be fighting over the remote control,” said the former Scots rugby legend.
“But I never have that problem because, when there’s sport on, Gabby is usually on the telly presenting it. And the kids and I love watching her.”
The Logan clan, including twins Reuben and Lois who turn nine this month, are setting up camp in Glasgow as Gabby leads the TV coverage.
And as he marks 13 happy years of marriage this weekend, Kenny insists they’re more in love than ever.
“I absolutely adore my wife,” he says. “She’s amazing and she’s an amazing mum, too. I don’t like to say it when she’s in earshot, but she’s a wonder woman.
“We have a great relationship. I think it’s because, as much as we love spending time with the kids, we remember we’re a couple too and take time out for each other.”
Stirling-born Kenny, 42, hopes to take the kids to several events from Wednesday, including track, boxing and, of course, the Rugby Sevens.
“We love watching sport as a family, whether it’s Andy Murray at the tennis or the Tour de France,” he says.
“Reuben is rugby daft. And Lois loves gymnastics like her mum used to do.”
Showing the youngsters their home country is also important for Kenny, who plans on taking them on a road trip to the Highlands.
“I want them to see Skye and places like that. It will be a nice break from city life,” he says.
“They might live in London, but the kids know they’re Scottish and they’re proud of it. Reuben has a Saltire flag gumshield for rugby and plays for London Scottish.
“They’re not running around shouting: ‘Och aye the noo!’ and we don’t ram it down their throats, but they definitely know where they come from.”
Next week, the couple will launch their annual charity golf event, Logan’s Classic, at Gleneagles.
And in August, Kenny will be back in Scotland, taking on Enable Scotland’s 450-mile 24-hour Cycle The World Challenge.
“I’ve been training and can just about cycle the length of myself now,” he jokes.
“I’d say all those sleepless nights with the kids should set me in good stead for racing through the night.
“But I’m glad it’s one sporting event that Gabby won’t be covering.”
