A young Scots actor hopes his relentless pursuit for justice over the death of his mother is nearing an end.
Michael Porter, from Dumfries, lost his mum, Jean Hanlon, six years ago after she was found dead in the water at Heraklion Harbour in Crete.
Police on the Greek island wrote it off as an accident, but evidence gathered by Michael and his elder brothers, David and Robert, since suggests otherwise.
A second post-mortem demanded by the brothers revealed Jean had died before entering the water, having suffered a broken neck, blunt-force head injury, shattered ribs and coccyx and a punctured lung.
Now, after years of costly trips and legal fees, there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel but it comes with a price tag.
To raise cash, Michael is putting on a huge show in London’s West End featuring a cast of nearly 100 performers.

He explained: “A few months ago I told our story on Greek TV and it seems to have made the authorities take note.
“Our lawyer recently met with the new prosecutor and she agrees mum’s case wasn’t handled right, so we’re hopeful it will be reopened.
“When I came up with the idea for the show it was because I didn’t know what else to do.
“I can’t keep asking for money to fund the case and I shouldn’t have to.
“I hate that I have to do something like this when the Government should be helping find mum’s killer.”
They Live in You is a variety show that’s received the backing of stars like Arlene Phillips and Matt Lucas.
Michael, who now lives in London, added: “She would have loved that I’m putting on this show. I know I can’t carry on like this but I’ll also never stop fighting for mum.”
They Live in You takes place at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre on April 12. You can donate to Michael’s fundraising page at gofundme.com/lenp3o
