Our fast-paced techno world is driving us all a little bit crazy.

Constantly being ‘available’ on smartphones and tablets means we never escape the pressures of work.

A report last week by the Law Society of Scotland claims the feeling of being on-call around the clock is now a key cause of stress in their profession.

And it’s not just lawyers who are feeling the strain.

Smartphone technology is contributing to increased workloads for lots of people.

They feel they never get away from work.

Even travelling on the train or bus, there’s nowhere you can’t be reached.

The work-life balance has gone out-of-kilter because of our easy availability.

Perhaps it’s time we learned to switch off.

Literally.

We all deserve a private life. We all need ‘me’ time away from the demands of others.
