Traditional porridge

Ingredients

½ cup oatmeal
1 tsp salt
1 knob butter

Put oatmeal with one and a half cups of water in a pan and bring to boil. 

Add salt and butter and turn down heat. Simmer gently, stirring, for around 3-4 minutes then switch off heat and allow to stand for a few minutes before serving. 

The porridge will thicken to a delicious texture.
