Mincemeat tart

Ingredients

70 g (3 oz) Atora suet
640 g (1 lb 6 oz) mixed dried fruit
100 g (4 oz) each of dried cranberries and glacé cherries
1 small dessert apple, chopped
40 g (2 oz) blanched almonds, chopped
180 g (7 oz) soft brown sugar
˝ tsp of both nutmeg and cinnamon
Grated rind and juice of ˝ lemon and 1 orange
120 ml (4 fl oz) brandy, whisky or sherry
425 g (15 oz) sweet pastry

Mix mincemeat ingredients together and refrigerate for two days before using.
Preheat oven to 180C, 350F or gas mark 4. Use pastry to line a fluted flan tin. Bake blind for 15 minutes then fill with mincemeat and cook for a further 20-25 minutes.
