Now Jackie, 48, who has two kids – Stanley, nine, and Florence, eight – with husband David is back on our screens with Stopping Scotland’s Scammers.

The series, which starts tomorrow at 8pm on STV, aims to prevent viewers falling victim to thieves.

MY childhood favourite was Arran and my mum and dad loved it so much that they moved there.

I ended up marrying the boy of the farm they lived next door to – so now my parents and in-laws live there.

We spend time there both on holiday and helping out with the lambing or tattie-picking.

There are so many different aspects to Arran. It’s got such amazing rock samples that you see geology students all the time there.

Goatfell is fantastic – my kids managed to climb it last summer – and the island has become hugely popular with cyclists who zoom round in a day.

You meet lots of people like yourself, who came as kids themselves and are now back with their own children.

I lived in San Francisco for five years and LA for six. When I was in San Francisco I’d go to Lake Tahoe, where you could ski during the day and gamble at night. It was a weird mixture.

And when I was in LA I spent a lot of time on holiday in Arizona.

There’s something magical about the desert and, although it’d be 100 degrees, it was a dry heat which was just fine. I’m really not good with the east coast humidity you get in the likes of Florida.

Scottsdale is a beautiful resort town with fantastic hotels and spas. It has a bit of a feel of the Old Wild West and it’s a destination I’d love to get back to.

And I’ve got such fond memories of St Lucia in the Caribbean because we got married there on a beach.

What an amazing backdrop to have for your wedding.

We went snorkelling in the morning and then celebrated on the sands with a bottle of champagne. It was so relaxed and casual.

We did think about going back but we really didn’t want to tamper with a fantastic memory.

But David I went to Rome recently for three days for our wedding anniversary and we’d definitely go back with the kids where they’re older.
