Help us to help them

Doreen’s thanks
— 68 years later

OF COURSE, readers of all ages continue to contribute to the campaign — including Doreen Stewart, from Mastrick in Aberdeen.
For her recent 70th birthday party she asked guests to donate to our appeal rather than bring presents.
Generous party-goers contributed a fantastic £305.
Doreen had a good reason to raise money for the four children’s hospitals — she’s a former patient of one of them.
When she was two, Doreen was involved in a terrible accident in the kitchen. A pan on the stove was knocked over, covering her in scalding stew.
She was treated at the Aberdeen Sick Children’s Hospital and might not have seen her 70th if wasn’t for the care she received there.
