Suzy was gobsmacked by ladies who lunch
By Kirsten Gray
EVERY MONTH members of PA Exchange, an informal networking club for Edinburgh’s PAs and secretaries, meet to swap business ideas and socialise.
One member, Suzy Dee, who’s PA at The Living Room restaurant in the city’s George Street, suggested they hold a charity Christmas lunch there, with proceeds going to our appeal.
Sending an e-mail round her 250 PA Exchange buddies, she reckoned on a response from perhaps 20 or 30. But she was astonished to receive 80 enthusiastic replies all requesting one of the £20 tickets.
Welcome cocktails were donated by The Living Room’s drink suppliers — and enjoyed by all — and were followed by a three-course Christmas lunch.
And Suzy says a call for raffle prizes distributed to the companies of her fellow PAs also received a generous response.
“I put out a request for a few raffle prizes and they just kept coming. And Space NK donated goodie-bags for all the ladies, which was a lovely treat.
“I had decided to organise a get-together and thought it would be really nice to raise a few pounds for CHAS.
“I was gobsmacked that so many people were interested,” says Suzy.
“It turned out to be a great day. The meal was booked for 12.30 pm and we were still in the restaurant at five.
“Some carried on until nine o’ clock.
“Thanks to a lot of generous people we were able to raise
£600 to help CHAS continue their excellent work.” |
