Help us to help them

It makes me proud
to be a Scot

By Jack McConnell

I WILL never forget the amazing people I met when I visited Rachel House with The Sunday Post two years ago.
Since then, I have enjoyed return visits and have supported CHAS in other ways.
The commitment of the staff in caring for the children, the tremendous spirit of the families and, of course, the courage of each and every one of the young children I have met has stayed with me ever since.

Jack met Gemma O’Byrne during his first visit
to Rachel House.

They are an inspiration to me and an inspiration to us all.
All Scots should be proud of Rachel House.
The fact that it would not exist if it were not for the generosity of people like Sunday Post readers is a tribute to them, and to the newspaper.
And I am absolutely delighted that the appeal for a second hospice is going so well.
I am truly proud to be a Scot when I read of the enthusiasm of people from all over the country who give their time and energy to raise money for a second hospice in Balloch.
Learning that their child has a life-limiting condition is every parent’s nightmare. Sadly, for hundreds of Scots that nightmare becomes a reality.
That is why I will continue to support The Sunday Post’s Robin House appeal.
I hope that you will too.
