IN THE words of Stephen Sondheim, “Something’s coming. Something good . . . and it’s gonna be great!”
West Side Story is coming to Pitlochry Theatre and The Sunday Post is delighted to welcome The Dance School of Scotland to tread the boards for our CHAS
appeal.
On June 15, 31 students will take to the Pitlochry stage supported by a professional orchestra and technical backup from Scottish Ballet. For one night only, all the profits from ticket sales will go to our CHAS campaign.
The Dance School of Scotland, the only one of its kind in Europe, only teaches the cream of young talent. It’s fully funded by the Scottish Executive and Glasgow City Council.
This year 240 students were auditioned for only 12 places. Competition is fierce. Graham Dickie, the school’s musical director, said, “Most of our students, aged 16-18, go straight into professional theatre or to the top drama colleges to continue their training.”
Tickets are available now from Pitlochry Theatre Box Office on 01796 484626, priced at £15.50, £17, £21, with concessions for OAPs, students and children, or go to
