Kindness instead
of cards
By Kirsten Gray
STAFF AT a Scottish Executive agency in Edinburgh have decided they won’t be sending out corporate Christmas cards this year.
But that’s not to say the Government department is doing a “Scrooge” and being tight with money.
However, as they deal with company insolvency issues, staff at the Accountant in Bankruptcy (AIB) office in the city’s George Street are used to counting the pennies.
And they calculated that the
£500 Christmas card budget for the 86 employees would be far better donated to CHAS.
Tania Orde at the AIB said, “Many of us have been touched by stories in The Sunday Post of the brave children who are looked after at Rachel House. We wanted to contribute towards the building of the new hospice at Loch Lomond.
“We normally send out corporate Christmas cards, but this year we’ve decided to donate the money to CHAS.
“This way the money will do far more good.”
And she added jokingly, “We just hope the people we’d usually send cards to don’t hold it against us!”
So, on behalf of the AIB staff . . . their season’s greetings to everyone they know. |
