Help us to help them

All we can say is . . .
get on yer bike!

By Sarah Johnson

IT’S NOT often The Sunday Post tells you to get on your bike when you offer to raise money for CHAS — but in this case we were delighted to send four Troon motorcyclists on their way.
Today, the intrepid bikers complete their marathon trip around Scotland, raising around £2000 for our appeal.
Stuart Strang, Stephen Valance, Frank Toner and his brother Bill roared off on the 1200-mile route on Thursday.
The trip took them from Troon to Inverness (twice), Aberdeen, the Borders, John O’Groats and Stranraer, stopping at B&Bs along the way.
The sight of a Harley Davidson, Suzuki GSX 750, Honda VFR 800 and Yamaha Fazer zooming past, well within the speed limit of course, can’t have gone unnoticed. The four haven’t been competing against each other, though. Before they left Frank said, “There’s no race. It’s all for one and one for all. We’ll be finishing together.

The men are funding the whole exercise themselves, so all the money donated will go towards the completion of Robin House. Their supporters have been very generous, with Troon Round Table donating £1000, and Frank said he couldn’t thank everyone enough.
The trip is a dry run for what they hope will be an even bigger event next year, again in support of CHAS. If you are interested in getting involved Frank is happy to speak to you and plan for the future.
