Help us to help them

Twin Towers CD will
help our appeal

A TALENTED teenager has recorded a poignant ballad in the wake of the World Trade Centre attacks, writes Jackie Bytheway.

Now 15-year-old David Wallace, from Balfron, Stirlingshire, is hoping it will be mass-produced by a major record company. And the musical youth wants any proceeds from its sale to be donated to our Hospice Appeal.
David explained, “I was horrified by the attacks and this inspired me to write the song. We have family and friends in America and, although they’re not near New York, it still touched them.”

David shows off a copy of his CD.

Mum Brenda explained her son has written a few songs in his time and when she and her husband, also David, heard the composition they were “stunned by the lyrics”.
David, who is studying Higher music at Balfron High and is musical director for a local dance and drama group, had already recorded four of his songs at a Glasgow studio.
And the studio fitted him in at short notice to record the September 11 song. He plays the piano and is the sole vocalist.
David said, “I felt quite moved afterwards. I’d love a career in the music industry and to be able to perform my own songs.”
Brenda added, “We have made copies of the CD and we’re getting a lot of positive feedback.”
The CD has also been sent to major record companies.
