Help us to help them

Dunbar girls just kept aiming higher and higher

WHEN WE last spoke to dedicated Dunbar duo Louise Daisley (11) and Alanah Murray (10), they were in the nervous final stages of organising a week of events to raise funds for our appeal.
So we’re pleased to report that all the hard work during their mid-term school holiday paid off and they raised £660.60 for CHAS.

Tanya Matharu, of CHAS, accepts the cheque from Louise, Alanah and Alanah’s little sister Brodie.

Though the girls asked us to pass on a big thank you to all the people who helped, there are simply too many to mention. So, we’ll just say well done to Louise and Alanah.
The Dunbar Primary pupils not only raised a packet by staging a raffle, but they also pulled in the pennies (or rather pounds!) at a table-top sale and Hallowe’en fancy dress party.
“The whole week has been great,” said Louise. “Thanks to performances by The Royal British Legion Scotland Pipe Band and The Kerry Swan Dancers, we pulled in a really big, and generous, crowd.”
Alanah added, “When we started trying to drum up support for CHAS, we hoped to raise at least £25.
“Our target rose to £100, then £500 — so to make £660 is brilliant.”
We couldn’t agree more.
