Help us to help them

Not one but TWO
great nights out

OUR NEWS last week about the Spirit of Youth concert at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall brought an immediate response from readers.
The show, which brings together for the first time the creme de la creme of Scotland’s young music and dance talent, takes place on November 25.
Tickets are going fast, but they can still be bought by phoning the Ticket Hotline on 0141 353 8000, or at the box office. Prices are £12.50 and £10.50 for adults and £10.50 and £8.50 for children.
Spirit of Youth is being presented by the Variety Club in Scotland and the Friends of CHAS, in association with The Sunday Post.
All proceeds will go to The Sunday Post Hospice Appeal.
When they heard about the concert, Glasgow brothers Ronnie and David Hill contacted us offering to help in any way they could.
Consequently, their company, Hill & Hay in Rogart Street, which is recognised for its quality colour printing, will now print the concert programme free of charge.
Said Ronnie, “When we learned about The Sunday Post campaign we knew it was a cause worth supporting.”
Added David, “We just wanted to do something to help these children.”
If you would like to support Spirit of Youth please contact The Sunday Post on 0141 332 9933.

Annie Get Your Gun
OUR HOSPICE CHALLENGE will be given another boost thanks to Glasgow Light Opera Club who have come up with an idea that will allow schoolkids to boost our appeal, and have a great night out, too.
They’re putting on Annie Get Your Gun at Glasgow’s King’s Theatre from November 12-17.
School groups can see the show at a reduced price of £5 a head — with £2 from every ticket going to the Sunday Post Hospice Appeal.
Alasdair Ross of GLOC says, “Since the club was founded in 1907, it’s been part of its constitution that it supports charitable causes through its shows.
“When we read about the Schools Hospice Challenge, we thought this would be an ideal way we could help youngsters raise the cash needed for this wonderful cause.”
Evening performances of the show are at 7.30 pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30 pm.
Any school wishing to take up this offer should call GLOC’s secretary on 0141-339 4673 or e-mail info@gloc.org.uk for further information.
Tickets, normally £6-£13, are likely to be for either the Upper Circle or Gallery.
As a bonus, teachers go free.
