Help us to help them

This took a trick with customers

By Colin Grant

GREIG ANDERSON has always liked dressing up for Hallowe’en. The fascination started when he went out guising as a child, and continues to this day — even though he’s now in his 30s, and a highly-successful businessman with children of his own.

So last week, after reading about our Hospice Appeal, he decided to combine one of his favourite costumes with our campaign and raise money for CHAS.
Greig, who owns Bensons, a licensed delicatessen in Candleriggs, Glasgow, said, “I think The Sunday Post is doing a magnificent job in raising all this money for a new hospice at Loch Lomond and I wanted to be a part of that.

Bumble bees Greig Anderson, Greig Moir
and Ann-Marie Rice buzz quietly in the
background as Spiderman Laura Hendry takes
centre stage and nun Chris Murdoch peeps
over to see what’s going on.

“So, on Wednesday, I convinced my staff to join me in wearing something different for Hallowe’en.
“We decorated the shop with pumpkins and brought in dry ice for effect. Then we asked our customers to throw their loose change into a big bucket we’d strategically positioned in the middle of the floor.
“In just four hours, we collected £215 for The Sunday Post campaign.”
