Help us to help them

Putting a shine on it

By Steve Finan

AS PART of Borrowfield Primary’s 25th anniversary celebrations, pupils and staff decided to help others as well as themselves.
In keeping with the silver anniversary theme, the Montrose school held a dress-in-silver day for pupils — and teachers.
Head teacher Irene Horn said almost all the 340 children in the school and nursery got into the spirit of things.

Left — Aaron Stephen, of P2, dressed up as
a spaceman for the day.
Right — It all went to the
head of P7 teacher Carol Lyon.

“Each year, we choose a charity to raise funds for, and CHAS was the overwhelming choice this year.
“It’s all for children, which obviously gets our pupils thinking, and we’ve had a CHAS representative up to explain what a hospice does and why a place like Rachel House needs donations and what is done with the money.
“We had a lot of fun with our silver day and the pupils and staff can be very proud of the £400 they raised.”
The Sunday Post couldn’t agree more.
