Ross King: Nicole Scherzinger will wow X Factor again

I ONCE was at a dinner in an exclusive Beverly Hills restaurant with some top Hollywood producers.

I know what you’re thinking – I must have been the waiter.

The topic of how to pick a hit movie came up and I asked each of them a question – How would your career be if you’d picked the movies you’d chosen not to make, and vice versa?

The answer was unanimous. They thought it would be roughly the same, and also could I bring them some more breadsticks when I had a moment.

It confirmed my theory about Hollywood. No one REALLY knows what they’re doing.

I mentioned Warcraft and how it had become an unexpected hit thanks to loads of fans in China going to see it – while it was largely ignored in Western cinemas.

In my opinion that was a happy accident for Hollywood.

I was thinking the same when I was chatting to the gorgeous Nicole Scherzinger last week.

Nicole’s an old pal who I was introduced to on the night I first met one of my great heroes – Prince.

What an unforgettable evening. I was already there with Sharon Osborne, Rita Ora and Gary Barlow. I know what you’re thinking – Ross King must fairly make the money from all these shifts as a waiter.

Anyway, Nicole was chatting to me last week about going back to X Factor.

A lot of people were asking her if this was a calculated move to get back to a golden period of Simon Cowell’s talent show after a few difficult years.

But in my opinion it’s not rocket science – things were a bit tired so Simon will mix it up, grab a few headlines, and see if it works.

It’ll be good to see Nicole return to the show. She won it with James Arthur back in 2012 and she tells me she’s looking forward to coming back to the UK which she views as a second home.

She’s also keen to get the old gang back together with Louis Walsh and my good pal Sharon.

I really do like Nicole who, as well as being drop-dead gorgeous, is a very underrated singer.

And I promised her a mention in The Sunday Post of her work with UNICEF – she’s just back from Kenya with the United Nations.

Anything for an old pal…especially as she left me a big tip!
